The PGY1 Pharmacy residency program at the Lloyd L. Gregory School of Pharmacy, prepares its residents to assume positions as clinical practitioners in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, faculty positions in academia, and PGY2 residency training. Residents are exposed to a variety of unique direct patient care settings within academic teaching hospitals and clinics with a focus at Wellington Regional Medical Center. Additionally, residents of the PGY1 program participate in a longitudinal teaching and learning program through the School of Pharmacy. This faith-based program prepares pharmacists as servant leaders within the profession.
Purpose
PGY1 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
The Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBAU) PGY1 pharmacy residency program prepares pharmacists as servant leaders within the profession. Pharmacist clinicians are prepared for direct patient care positions, academia, and PGY2 training in a focused area of practice.
Learning Experiences
Learning experiences are a block schedule or longitudinal throughout the residency year. Residents may choose up to three elective blocks in addition to completion of required learning experiences:
